I missed you, self-imposed comic background tedium...! I learned that you can lag ClipStudio out if you have a lot of 3D assets going at the same time. I realize that should be a given. Using those assets instead of frustratingly trying to figure out this kind of environment entirely from scratch I think is worth a little bit of chug for the next few pages. On the bright side, there's very little left I need to do to actually "finish" the background when I get around to inking.
