It is seriously wild to see how much something like fatphobia is so ingrained into the idol industry and how it runs these girls' self worth. It makes me truly wonder if this is what they are willing to show us how they treat them on camera, than how much worse must it truly get off of it. Hard to even fathom, honestly.

TW//: Eating Disorders (ED), Fatphobia It's even more frustrating knowing the details of why Jihyo gained weight (even though that isn't wrong or bad that she did). Because she was depressed and she binge ate since her first debut got canceled (plus the pressure of feeling like she wasted so much of her time etc). She's talked about it and she was repeatedly punished for being a tiny bit 'bigger' than the other girls. It's even rumored that AR punished her the first time and that's the real reason she didn't originally go into major in EP 1 because she didn't fit the weight requirements. Idk it's just so frustrating because these companies cause these body image issues for these idols all the time. It doesn't even matter in the end what they look like. I always have to skip scenes like this because it breaks my heart that these girls felt like they had to diet. Thankfully, Jihyo is clearly in a better place with her body image and good relationship with food. But no thanks to the adults in her life.

one of the reasons i was so against staning kpop was because of the industry itself, the way they treats idols/trainees is insane to me.. the girls even talked about how bad it was the whole diet thing, momo said when she was a trainee they told her to lose 15 pounds no matter what, so she didn't ate for a whole week to the point where she cried herself to sleep because she was afraid she wouldn't wake up. we don't know the half of what these idols/trainees go through i just hope nowadays things are changing for the better and the newest generations won't have to go through the same
