Dear diary, let’s be positive for a change! (Patreon)

I was in the middle of writing another blog about the burden of expectations and the problems I’m having because of it. Then I thought, ‘’Why do you always focus on this depressing stuff?’’. It makes sense, I find it a lot easier to write about everything wrong in life rather than the good things I already have. There’s something so therapeutic about it, which is good. But I want to keep this blog interesting and that means switching things up once in a while!

I am so proud of the small yet extremely supportive community that has gathered on my Discord server. I love seeing the care people take to make new members feel included. There are amazing works and helpful resources being shared by aspiring artists all the time. It is beautiful. So I want to take this opportunity to be thankful to everyone who chose to spend their precious time to contribute to my small server.

I met a friend yesterday, haven’t seen him in almost a year ever since I moved. We did nothing but talk for hours just like old times. There was a long discussion about Glass Onion, why I absolutely adore it and why it was the worst film he saw last year. We also talked about AI, how it might impact us artists in the near future and what we should do to prepare for it. We then ate ramen at 2 AM, it was fun.

Lastly, I want to share that a small stray cat in the condominium I live was finally adopted! Me and another girl had been feeding her for a few weeks, and with Chinese New Year approaching, we were worried that there’d be no one here to take care of her. I was so glad and relieved when we found a couple that we believe could give her a good and happy life!
