The overlord universe has some weird mechanics when it comes to language. Anything spoken is automatically translated for anyone listening. So from the perspective of the listener, the speaker’s lips and words might not line up. Why is this the case? Not sure, maybe someone cast a really powerful spell in the past. That said, it doesn’t affect written language. Ainz and the NPCs couldn’t read the New World’s language when they came to the world, so the anime should have invented a new written system that’s not one of our world’s languages.

The magic in the world goes up to tier 10 then super tier above that but its pretty rare in the world for humans to even be able to cast 3rd tier so thats considered pretty powerful to them
