Derulio: Animation Showcase (Patreon)

Hey everyone, V.D.Y. here! Back with another Hereafter post!

In my last post I introduced you all to Derulio and showed off his concepts and idle animation. This week I want to show off all the other animations Twi has created so far for our MC!

Starting with Derulio's Walk!

You may recognize Derulio's walk from our first post introducing Hereafter where we featured the walk animation in profile. I can't help but hear Stayin Alive as he struts along!

Next up, Derulio's run animation!

Look at him go! I've always found it fascinating how much the gait of quadrupeds change as they speed up so it was really fun to watch Twi produce this animation.

And now, the jump animation!

It's hard to tell what's going on with Derulio remaining in place for this one, but it's actually composed of 5 animations! Starting with a lift off animation as Derulio starts his jump, rising and falling animations with a transition animation between them for when Derulio reaches the apex of his jump, and a final landing animation as he reaches the ground. This setup lets the animation work for any size jump.

Finally, my personal favorite, the attack animation!

Wow! I love how this attack animation came out, the smear frames really add to the sense of speed as Derulio headbangs his way to victory!

As you probably guessed from the header image, these animations are actually only one angle, meaning each of them represents only 1/8th of the animations made for Derulio so far! Twi has been hard at work making these animatons for Derulio and quite a few animations for other characters that I look forward to introducing you to in the future! I hope you all enjoyed getting this peek at Derulio's animations!
