The Homestead Train Station (Patreon)

Hi there ponductors ^c^

Today we are showing off the reference for the first fully featured background in the game; The Homestead train station. ^c^

This will be what you see when you first step hoof in Homestead, as well as the first location background. That means multiple things; you can visit it at any time of day, there are lots of scene which will take place here, and items will appear and disappear here over the course of the game.

You can also pan around this background for a cool parallax effect.

The inspiration behind this background, as well as all of Homestead, is combining a comfy early American architectural style with a vaguely eastern Kobold flair, and I think that turned out quite well here ^c^

You may also notice some practical details, like how the door is massive, this is to accommodate the rather large Kobolds creatures, and that the bench has no arm rests, because quadrupeds have no need for them. There is also the crystal based street lamp, which emphasizes the relative technical advancement of this building and how it balances between the futurism of the MagiRail and the tradition of Homestead.
