Weekly Report: Oct 23rd (Patreon)

Alright kitties! As you can see above, we have a short video here showing off functionally how our new minigame works! We hope it looks cool, we certainly think it does! Error and Spooky did a good job! (But hey, we're the devs. Kinda biased.)

It's the first of what we call Jobs. This is actually a pretty good time to talk about how earning bits works in the game!

There are in general three ways to earn bits. 

1) The Odd-Job Board :: You can find this in Town Hall, it's right next to Raven. You spend a time slot, get a small amount of bits, and the odd job is taken care of! Easy peasy. Not super effective, but there are some special events that will only be found via the Odd-Job Board! So worth doing at least a little bit (once we get those special events in at least. They're not in yet.)

2) Day Jobs :: Like the video above! These are day jobs you can open up around Ponyville. They tend to come with a basic minigame, and come with the ability to default on the job to get a mediocre number of bits. If you play the minigame, though, you could potentially earn more, according to how good you are at it! Jobs have a bit of progression, but not a ton.

3) Careers :: Careers are like Day Jobs +. Careers are the same, but have a greater sense of progression, and tend to be a lot more important narratively! They'll essentially have their own routes connected to their minigame, and in their later progressions can end up giving you quite a lot of bits!

That's the basic rundown of how earning bits works in the game. It should be said that the minigames are also influenced by your stats (in what way? We're not telling! That would be cheating!), and in some cases, personality. Maybe they'll make the minigame easier... or harder. Or maybe just different!
