Hello there, kitties!

Our new public release is coming up soon! Woo! We’re in the final stretch, and we’ve been running ourselves a little ragged! We’re making this post in between cups of coffee and power naps, so let’s get this show on the road!

First up, the content you all love! Spooky has done some great work retooling and coloring several backgrounds. She’s been using her magic paws to adopt a beautiful reimagining to her previous style, inspired by the Rainbow Road movie. (If you haven’t seen it, go check it out).

First up, the Carousel Boutique! This is one of my personal favorites, but I may be biased (I do so love me some Rarity). From what I recall, this one was one of the biggest pains in the haunch, but I think it was worth it!

(Still my favorite! It's so cute, and I can't wait to explore the tents!)

(Hiss! Catfight! Rarity looks like she's pretty used to Sweetie yelling. And check out that lace))

Then of course there’s our poster mare! She has some nicely colored BGs as well! I remember Spooky going through -so many- different screenshots to figure out the placement of everything on the inside. The outside looks delicious and now I want cake. There goes my diet.

(The SCC still makes me look hungry. There's so much detail in this image too! So much going on! Really captures the downtown feel.)

(This has to be the only place I've seen lollipops in a glass case! Also carrots, at a bakery!)

(Pinkie's stare will devour your soul. O.O)

(It's a commonly known fact that ponk snoots are collapsable. Also, more candy! Bon Bon's jealous.)

And finally, the center of Ponyville’s Local Government, the Town Hall! Let’s hope that Derpy doesn’t destroy it again. I swear, they have to have a ‘Derpy Disaster’ budget set aside.

(There are so many windows on Town Hall. I guess you need a lot of light when locked in bureaucracy!)

(The staff can't wait for you to join them! They're eager for the release too!)

It all looks nice, doesn’t it? I’m excited to see what you all think of them in game!

As for what else we’ve been working on, Error has been working on some internal polish, such as cleaning up our settings menu to make it easier to read, making the Sneaky Kitty logo work in webGL, while both Error and Spooky worked together to make a comical little poof when Pinkie runs off in the platform scene.

Oh, and bugs. A good bit of bug squashing. Random bouts of a character sticking in place, or a character inverting during a scene, or even disappearing! In addition to bugs, Error has started composing custom music for the game. I’m particularly thrilled about this idea: Music is one of those things that can tie narrative and art together into one beautiful, emotional scene, and I can’t wait to play around with it. You won’t see the benefits of this immediately, but it’s definitely something to look forward to!

That’s all for now, kitties! We’ll tell you more on our release date, which should be absolutely -no- later than November 8th!

Happy Spooky Month!
