Spike is always happy to help Twilight Sparkle!

Hello again! Lotta behind the scenes stuff again this month, and three more friends to meet!

Like I mentioned in my last post I wanted to delve in a bit more about just what takes so long to make certain character's rigs (or puppets as some like to call them) so I can properly make a game sprites with them.

SilkWright has mentioned in the past about it being a high start up cost when it comes to this sort of thing and she's pretty much 100% correct on that.

So I'll share some of the effort that goes into it all and show off two of the newest characters at the same time!

Twiggle Piggle

Here's our favorite dragon's big sister best friend forever! Not to mention the Princess of Friendship as well! She still needs a few more fun pieces I need to finish and touch up (which I can't really tell you about without spoiling story stuff) like a couple of wing poses, for example.

What she does have, like all of our tiny equine mare friends, is a full run through of eyes and mouths, and a couple of hoofies to play around with too.

She's also the only pony right now besides Pinkie that has two sets of hair styles I can change around depending on which way she's faces.
I mostly made the second style for the fun of it since it'd probably be used for unique poses than in average game sprites due to have much effort we'd save by mirroring game sprites in most instances.

Spike-Wikey

Now here's a li'l fella that's completely finished! Spike ended up taking a lot more work than I originally thought he would. Of course it didn't help that I sketched up a lot of stuff that we didn't exactly need right this second, but would help out in the long run.

A quick run through of Spike's arms.

A run through of Spike expressions.

Mouths moving on top of different body sets.

Glim Glam

Starlight Glimmer can tend to be a little uneasy when meeting new ponies.

Of course there's also our favorite other, other, other pink pony, and friendship student!

You may recognize one of these Glimmer models, but now she also has a proper pose model now, and in fact the upcoming scene with here has already been posed and exported! Woo!

More big news soon, everypony!
