Still highly suggest you all to watch The Legend of Korra after this series is finished ! 🙂 It gives insight on Avatar Kyoshi & it doesn’t disappoint.

If I remember correctly, Roku being Zuko's great grandfather is by his parents. His mother is the granddaughter of Roku with the Fire Lord being the grandson of Sozin. So, you were right the first time when you were figuring out what generation was when they joined the bloodline. From what I understand it was planned by the Fire Lord to connect the Royal family and the Avatar Roku's families by marrying the Ursa to Ozai. They purposely looked for her (or at least a descendant) and arranged the marriage. From what I gather it was in hopes to have a potential stronger/more powerful future heir. That's why Uncle Iroh would already know the information to tell Zuko because it was an arranged marriage. Possibly the with Zuko's mother disappearing that no one spoke about her and/or her family afterwards. Hopefully that cleared up some confusion. This is one of my favorite episodes along with the episode when they reveal how Zuko got his scar/Aang got frozen in the water. I love the parallels and connections this show gives between the characters. The rest of book 3 is great too, looking forward to re-watching it with you both. Happy New Years!
