You need to watch the award show performance that has RMs intro. Not sure which one it is but maybe someone else in the comment area will know. It always gives me goosebumps and as it transitions live it is way more satisfying then the album recording.

U can only use "gashina" with people you are close with and its mostly used in Busan (Jimin and JK's hometown). Although other regions have different variations of the word. Bt Seoul people consider it vulgar or slang or unrefined.

Its super refreshing to watch reactors watch Paldogangsan and actually comprehend that they're utilizing the different dialects haha, you should really react to Paldogangsan explained by a Korean! It really gives you an in depth look at the lyrics wordplay and history behind the different provinces and dialects theyre using :-)

And its super nice to see someone comprehend on first try that this album is from when they're young and a lot of their art is inspired expression from what they were influenced by. LOVE THESE. And I LOVEEED ya'll singing along to if i ruled the world (shoutout to Gabriel for the high-hands participation). They did if i ruled the world in their concert where they did the hey-oh-ey-oh-oh part without music or mics and got the audience to sing along. Its super cool to watch.

Also, I love WE ON, the vocal line says "please shut up" which is the closest we've gotten to a vocal line diss track. Which reminds me, cyphers are essentially diss tracks yes, and they do get more personal, to the point of mentioning towns and incidents in particular (cypher pt. 2 is directed to that particular interview yall mentioned thats in the taylor guide) :D

This was great! 💜Before I found BTS, I really don't have a favorite artist. My song choices were so eclectic. Since becoming an ARMY, I listen to their music always. I mean, a song or 2 could pique my interest but I would always go back to BTS. I found that their music has become my OST. On certain episodes of my life, there is always a BTS music that fits perfectly. 💜💜💜 Can't wait for more album review. 🤗💜 P.S. I still hope that you would watch Boracity's videoessay regarding BTS discography. You would really learn a lot and appreciate the thought they put in with every album release.

That was so amazing, it's good to see how much our boys have changed. The first Cypher is too much, RM has an absurd flow. You're still going to listen, but I'll tell you that my favorites are Cypher 3 and 4. I love listening to the skits, seeing them talking and having fun. I know some of the songs you've already heard, but personally, I do think you should re-listen to them when you do the albums reviews. That way, you can remind yourself of the lyric translations and also see how the songs fit into the narrative of the albums themselves. But that's just my suggestion. I'm so glad you guys included the comeback trailer! Can you imagine what it would be like to see that and have no idea what's coming next? And they did perform the trailer at a few music shows, I believe, and in one of them, when they pulled their shirts to change them from black to white, Both Jimin and RM accidentally ripped their shirts. Jimin ripped a sleeve, but RMA ripped the entire top and had to dance the rest of the performance with one hand holding his shirt up to his body. He completely DESTROYED his shirt onstage. I'm sure he was a bit embarrassed at the time, but it's find of a funny moment looking back. Honestly, We On is so underrated. The first time I listened to the album, I kind of missed it, but later heard a clip in something and was like "what's that". Now, I absolutely love it. RM's low almost whisper-like rap is so satisfying to listen to, I could listen to it all day, and the vocal line killed the chorus. And the lyrics are amazing to hear now. Like this came out in 2013, and every line they spoke has now come true 10 years later. As much as they were looked down on during this time, they rose up higher and higher. Really, they spelled out their plans for their future in this album, and kept true to every promise they made in it. One of my favorite performances of If I ruled the World was at one of their super early concerts, when they put their mics down and did the "Hey-oh-hey-oh-oh" part with the audience with no mics. (Obviously they were in a small enough venue at the time for it to work, but it was still beautiful to watch). The Outro: Luv in Skool, was really a teaser for their next album, called "Skool Luv Affair".

Yh I just checked and it seems like it didn't have anything to do with the lyrics, but around 2009 his friend from his old rap crew posted a message online telling people to pray from RM as he was a 15 year old boy going through heart surgery who had low chance of survival. It doesn't seem to have been reported on officially so people only go by the post made before debut. Makes more sense now, thanks.

What I love about the Cyphers is if you listen to them one right after the other along with their other early raps (which y’all will do if you continue your album reaction/review journey) you can see so clearly how hard the Rapline worked to improve their style, technique, flow, cadence, lyricism, and SPS in a relatively short amount of time. Pt 1 and Pt 2 were released 5 months apart. Pt 3 came 6 months later and Pt 4 followed a little over 2 years after 3. Each Cypher has a distinct style and influence and it’s so great to hear them exploring, improving, and finding their voices and strengths through the process of each album. There is a reason RM, j-hope, and Suga are considered by many to be the strongest Rapline in the K-industry and it can be traced to the countless hours they had put into honing their craft in their very early career.

There is a kind of continuation to RM’s Intro, it might sound familiar to you because it was sampled in Suga’s solo song, Shadow. Persona used a sample from the Intro of Skool Luv Affair, then Yoongi sampled the Intro from ORUL82?, and Hobi sampled the Intro from 2 Cool 4 Skool, effectively going back to their first 3 albums in reverse order to return to the beginning of BTS. 💜💜💜

When I was a baby ARMY, the first time I heard Paldogangsan (before I looked up the lyrics) I got confused and thought it was the song Coffee because it sounded to me like they were singing “Americano” in the chorus. To this day, even though the 2 songs are NOTHING alike, I have to think about it a second when the music starts because I imprinted the wrong song title in my brain almost a decade ago. 😑

I love these album reviews! We On is one of my faves. I love that song so much. Paldogangsan actually gets blocked in South Korea. I think the explanation video someone else suggested explains why. And of course the Cyphers are all master pieces. You will notice a big jump in from C1 to C2 the rapline is so freaking amazing. Certain parts of songs are going to sound similar because BTS has a habit of circling back to their earlier stuff if the themes connect and things like that. I'm looking forward to the next ones!

That first video clip was what they were filming that day they played that “prank” on jungkook for his 16th birthday and made him cry that you guys saw lmao… I mean look at the kid… center of BTS since the beginning, poor guy knew he was in the right spot lmao I love when rm starts talking.. he’s telling them in English that they’re okay… that if they feel their heartbeat then they’re still alive… and to get up … pick themselves up and get ready …. I’m guessing the way he moves his arms and the beats right there are supposed to be kinda like when someone gets their hearts shocked when they flatline… and that’s why their bodies contort like that!!! Really such a brilliant concept!! They actually performed this live before their other stages I believe for the first comeback… like 3 of them accidentally had their undershirts ripped off as well lmao I just remember rm and jimin holding their shirts together trying to dance… poor guys!!! Man is it Thursday yet? I’m ready for more burn the stage lol

Fun fact: if you loop Outro: Luv Affiar in Spotify with the crossfade set at 6, it will loop seamlessly you wont even notice that the song ended and started again
