Yees my fav rap line song

Paula Solano

My fav song, they are insane.😍😍

Hobispot

the emotions in this song... omg I can feel it through my bones

RL

Glad you are enjoying the song since the reaction more! :) In reaction it seemed like y'all didn't enjoy it as much as you do enjoy other BTS songs.. But it's also okay! We each have our preferences :) Btw, I didn't enjoy rap before BTS.. Now I love it. I also love reading lyrics - they have such deep lyrics, which make the song even more enjoyable!

Since you've reacted to this, I think you should also react to their 2018 MAMA speech after winning Artist Of The Year: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVs710bHkNA&t=12s. :)

Lorraine Acosta

you should watch their speech at the MAMA acceptance award for Artist of the Year in 2018. please prepare your tissues, the floodgates will open 😭 I still cry everytime I watch it.

Sofie K.

I never liked rap in my life before BTS. I’m a classical musician and have never understood the hype or “music” in rap. And honestly never gave it a fair chance. But now I am 100 % rap line biased when it comes to BTS. I love and support all 7 of course! But the rap line’s songs or the group songs where rap line is focused tends to be my favourites. UGH! And outro Tear are 2 of my all time favourite songs from them. So good! J-hope’s verse and delivery gets me every time in this performance 🥲

Jodi

So, so happy!!! Like I commented on YouTube.......60 year old woman. No rap in my life until BTS!!!! I love their rap!!! Still waiting on HOUSE OF CARDS (LIVE). LOVE YOU GUYS!!

Meg7

Same! I never thought Rap was for me. But bts made it more accessible & approachable as a genre. If songs could have a bias, mine would be Ugh 😂 That song is just….can’t really describe it best with words, so I’m gonna say *chefs kiss*

L

Oh I'm so glad you've been listening to the studio version. Tear is a top 3 B-side for me so I was thrilled to see this. I would have loved to see your reaction to some of the music, particularly this one sumptuous bass run in one of the pre-choruses (I know you noticed it!!). Don't worry too much about not getting to cover all the "lines" in BTS. It will happen eventually because the rapline were considered the musical pillars of BTS since the vocal line were not as experienced in creating music when they first began. Now they all contribute significantly and their music has become so much richer because of it. I'm not on discord but I trust the armys there and your editors/admins will guide you right. BTS were able to break down lots of my prejudices I had, not just about kpop music but about rap as well. I used to assume it as all arrogant music bragging about material conquests but they showed me it can be just as sincere and powerful as any genre. I began to open up to other great rap music I had overlooked and now count some tracks by tupac, kendrick, mac lethal among my absolute favorite music when I never thought I would as a primarily rock/alternative fan. Stanning BTS opened up a new world for me and I'm so pleased to see it do the same for you. Thanks for the reaction!

leat

they haven´t performed this song since their love yourself tour. all the other rap song they have performed since just not this. i think they decided to leave the pain in the past and move forward. no other act out there has made a song like this. and i am not really a rap lover myself but i love BTS raps. when i first heard this i didn´t even looked at the lyrics but i felt every emotion poring out of them on stage. it was one of those songs that completely win you over.

wendye9999

Thx for reaction. My confession is that I've never listened to this before and didn't know the back story, so I really appreciate it.

L

Right? The moment you know what it's about, it's impossible not to love it. As much as I would love to see them perform this in person one day, it is so hard to capture such difficult emotions again and perform it well without also re-living it to some extent. So I completely understand if they never do. It was crazy enough seeing them do Born Singer again after all these years! It felt good to see joon change to lyrics to reflect his new more successful and secure self though.

taesthetic_mots

Thank you for this reaction, please do Ddaeng reaction + explanation next for rap line song recommendation

Adams Adams

I love the reaction<333 I totally recommend their 2018 MAMA speech because that is where they first told everyone about how much they were struggling (both individually and as a whole) and at the time it was so shocking. It was very emotional, so if you do watch it have some tissues close by lol.

Bun_s_life

I'm the same - I've never really enjoyed rap before BTS (except for a very few specific songs by people like Eminem) and now I enjoy it a lot. I can now appreciate the genre and even though I mostly listen to BTS' rap I now can enjoy listening to other rappers, appreciate them, search for a meaning in their words or just enjoy the beat/flow.

Bun_s_life

"Tear" is one of my top fav rap line songs and it is one of the songs that got me to enjoy rapping which I didn't like before. I've never really enjoyed rap before BTS (except for a very few specific songs by people like Eminem) and now I enjoy it a lot. I can now appreciate the genre and even though I mostly listen to BTS' rap I now can enjoy listening to other rappers, appreciate them, search for a meaning in their words or just enjoy the beat/flow. I'm a bit sad you reacted to the live version only and not the studio version alongside it... BUT! I totally remember you have a lot on your schedule so I can't be so selfish. :P Though it would be nice for future reactions if you could react to studio version + live version of the song (unless live version reactions are already somewhere on your schedule... ;) Waiting for more content from you because I'm always enjoying it. Borahae Bun

CDragon21

I'm an older Army 50+, and I NEVER enjoyed rap before BTS. But the BTS rappers are just different. Their lyrics are literal poetry. And their rhythm and flows are amazing! I love that the beats/rhythm of the rapping changes so much throughout the songs. And on top of that, their three styles are so distinct. I always get emotional hearing Tear. J-Hope at the end breaks me because you can hear so much pain and emotion in his voice. UGH and all of the Cyphers are also songs you must not miss!! Great reaction.

Grace McLean

This is my favorite BTS song because it is the one that's had the most impact in my life. It came out when a long time relationship had suddenly ended, yet it as sudden because I saw it changing but didn't know how to fix it. Suga's lines hits me, that's how I felt, then Jhope's ending lyrics hit me the most because fear of being on my own is what consumed my mind for months. This song put my words on paper and helped me over come my feelings along with their Japanese song Let Go. I'm happy now but I still tear up a little when I hear it, especially now when I know the motive for writing the song. It's a Master Piece with so many layers.

PM

I was not a big rap fan before BTS but have come to really appreciate the genre. My son played me a rap song recently (don't remember the song or artist) and my comment was "this would be really good if it was in Korean!" LOL. Thank you CCW for keeping an open mind. And as always, you guys are doing great! Keep em coming and I'll keep watching! Luv you all!

jmgi

I agree with everyone who suggested for you guys to watch the MAMA 2018 AOTY Acceptance Speech to fully grasp the weight of Outro: Tear

Rae Avilez

Rapline hoes unit! And I'll see you all at Yoongi's concert, come hell or high water!!!

TaezedNotConfused

Like some others, I’m an older Army - approaching 60. We were around when rap made the scene and have watched it decline in a lot of places. Another Patreon mentioned that BTS rap is poetry, and in so many ways it is. It has meaning and message and intelligently represented - and the word play 🤌. Even the diss tracks can do this. And I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the research you all put into your reactions - shout out to the Admins for leading you to learn more. So many other reactors put zero effort into learning- it’s all about the views. I believe that it why so many of us enjoy your channel - it’s real for us. We enjoy seeing others grow as we did (and are still). Please continue to research and learn, to appreciate the beauty that each song BTS puts out has within. There is honestly nothing they have made that is a throw away, a filler song or whatever. They are all simply awesome and beautiful - songs and raps! Love you all and to those helping you on the journey 💜💜💜

April Westervelt

The MAMA 2018 Award of the Year Acceptance speech really drives home how deep these lyrics cut. You don’t have to react to it, but please watch it. It just shows another layer to these men and the genius of their lyrics. 💜

grt

So I didn't see any comments about this, so just a little more background for you guys. When they signed their first contract it was for 7 years, which is a common contract period for kpop groups. They were at a point of deciding to renew for another 7 years or to end the original contract. It was a really tough time for them because they wanted to agree as a group to stay together or end it. If you didn't know the back story, you would think this was a break up/love song. The first time Army really knew about how close they came to disbanding was in the acceptance speech mentioned a lot here. If you decide to watch it, please have lots of tissues available because I will bet you will not be able to keep from being emotional watching and hearing the members' acceptance speeches. I really enjoy what you guys do and look forward to your content, thank you!

Rafaa Z

‏And now you just listened to my favorite song for a lifetime, at first before I knew BTS, I had a specific type of favorite song, which is R&B songs, I love quiet rhythm , but since I knew BTS in 2014 with the song “ just one day “and I fell in love with them at first, I said that it is from the song and then I love everything from them , Be it their songs or their personalities , now I love many types of songs and I do not limit myself to one type as long as I like the melody, and I became someone who lyrics of the song are the most important for him, actually BTS were changed me a lot since I knew them.

TSO 아포방포

As others have mentioned, rap is not my genre. I now love the rap within their OT7 songs, (I am 60+, so even that is saying something for me. 🤗) but I still don’t listen to the strictly rap line. That being said, this is my favorite rap line performance. I enjoy it live because you can see the emotion and energy as they perform it. Hobi gets me every time!! So emotional.

TSO 아포방포

“Please continue to research and learn, to appreciate the beauty that each song BTS puts out has within. There is honestly nothing they have made that is a throw away, a filler song or whatever”. Thank you for this comment. SO many people consider their English songs throw aways!!!! You only have to listen to many of their interviews to know that is not true!!! The English songs had their time and place, just like all of their music!!!!

GigiCrews

I am also someone who really didn’t care for rap until I listened to BTS. As Daniel said, it is very lyrical and I haven’t listened to a BTS rap song that I didn’t like. The Cypher’s are awesome!

haley!

Joining the conversation here to share the fact that I like most people here never really liked rap music until BTS! They are seriously something else...

Linda Moua

I feel like you guys should watch their MAMA 2018 speech where they brought up their real feelings. I still remember watching the speech the day it came out and it really got me tbh

Nancy Marshall

Hobi at the end gets me in my feels! He goes off with so much passion at the end you can feel what he’s conveying! One of my favorite rap line songs!

Jane L

I was just thinking that. I can't remember how many times I cried that day

Tonya W

I love the rap, but I love the group as a whole too, so it think you should react to what appeals to you because you aren’t going to please everyone

Lizzy's Mom

About the "age line", the group is often broken up into the maknae line and hyung line (though some people float around... Jin & Hobi). The guys even comment on it, especially when they are teamed up for games. There is a video that contrasts the maknae and hyung lines' behavior in different situations and it's hilarious. I'll try to drop a link, maybe someone in the discord will get it into a poll. https://youtu.be/oE4RypvCI5Q

Tonya W

To ppl saying they didn’t like rap before or you only like BTS’ rap, please consider that YOU didn’t give rap a full chance before and stereotyped it instead of the reality that there is a lot of diversity in hiphop, including amazing lyricists. It’s kind of racist to suggest BTS are the only and certainly not the first ones (not even inside Korea where Epik High and others inspired them)making meaningful poetic rap

Petrina Mcevoy

I’m really happy you reacted to this one. I still get goosebumps for Hobi’s verse at the end, every single time! 🥹

Paula

This is my fave rap line song and it´s in my top 3 overall BTS song. As many others here, I´ve never liked rap. At 45 years young BTS is the only rap I enjoy!

Tonya W

I appreciate that you said it was you that didn’t give rap a chance vs a lot of ppl in these comments that are being kind of disrespectful to originators of rap and many contemporaries of BTS by acting like BTS were the first ones to make meaningful lyrics

Cristine Sandigan - Santiago

i still find it unbelievable that i came to love different genres now because of BTS. never would have thought head banging with the rapline verses or jhope rock type music before. all new to me but loved them all, as i know this is their fruit of labor.

Karen O'Halloran

Speaking about the ‘lines’ in BTS, yes there is a personality one. It’s called the Introvert Line and it’s members are 🐹🐱🐰(Jin, Suga & JK) A prime example you’ve seen but maybe might not have realised is the Tiny Desk concert. In Dynamite the 4 extroverts of BTS were quick to get up off their chairs and dance. But Suga & JK especially did not budge at all from their seats. Another hilarious instance was when the Introvert line did a VLive together and at one point an awkward silence ensued as a result.

J-Lee

Thank you for considering reacting to this song 🙏 We must not forget that BTS was originally a hiphop group. It's also what sets them apart from other Kpop groups. So the rapline is like the backbone of the group when it comes to their music. It's always good to take time to appreciate these lyrical geniuses 💜 Honestly, I got to BTS because of the hip-hop genre. I'm more on the hiphop side of music. But their hip-hop lyrics are more admirable because of the message behind them. It's not just about smoking pot, partying, girls etc. It's about their story, their feelings, how they want to inspire the people in their era. And that's what Bang PD has always taught them to do. 💜 But even if I'm more on hiphop music, JIN is my ULTIMATE BIAS because of his personality. Then I learned to appreciate his vocal skills, the vocal line's talents, their ballad songs, how they all can write and produce songs too. Just everything. Because I love BTS. So I learned, I got interested and I fell in love. 💜 Therefore I hope, even if you guys say you're not into rap songs, would still learn to love it and the rapline, appreciate it more and have them into your system, if you really love Bangtan 💜 Lastly, the "line" thingy were just used to refer mostly to usual categories. Rap line, vocal line, dance line, hyung line, maknae line, visual line (actually there's just two visuals, Jin and V), introvert line. Just that, it's not something mandatory really 🤭 Thank you again and happy weekend everyone, borahaeeee CCW! 🥰💜 PS: Just posted this here from my YT comment 😅

Sofie K.

Yeah, it’s definitely on me for not giving rap a chance. Because as you say, BTS are not the first ones to make meaningful lyrics. However!: they were the first one who made me want to try and give rap a chance ;) My first time watching BTS was their live performance of Mic Drop on SNL. I never heard of them before, and had never seen anything like it before: 7 singers/rappers and no instruments? And all that dancing? It was especially the stage presence of j-Hope that got me at first in that performance. So it wasn’t even the music in itself that got me to check out more of the rap, it was the concept and dancing that got me intrigued. Glad I went down that rabbit hole 😂👍🏼

Line Henriksen

Thank you for the reaction!! This tear performance is so iconic!! You truly feel their emotion!! Rapline is just so incredible!!

Rachel Lynn

Thank you for reacting to this! Rapline is what hooked me into BTS and all 7 have different colours to their voices that makes their music so good

earlene torres

I agree 👍 💯- especially that JHope can speak from experience of leaving before debut then came back, on that part he said about flashback . He ate the stage with 🔥 and is an artist who sings emotionally that also shows on his face. The MAMA speech- he broke me 😭😭😭 - BTS Rapline is SUPREME 🙌🏼💜🙏🏻

Emma

Thanks for this! BTS has a huge, varied discography at this point, and I like some genres more than others, so I totally get being more drawn to certain songs. At the same time, if you're interested in lyricism, it's so rewarding to delve into the rapline songs as RM, Suga, and J-Hope are the biggest contributors to that aspect (so far!). RM's inter-language wordplay, Suga's ability to describe and evoke intense emotions, and J-Hope's literary techniques are so good.

j

I was there at Mama as I live in Hong Kong. Can’t believe I was able to witness part of this important bangtan history x :c

j

The iconic, custom designed DIOR black outfits worn in this vid is army’s fav. Kim Jones (head of Dior) personally designed the boys’ outfits & now our precious Jiminie is the global ambassador for Dior men! x :D

sunhoseoks

hello, i love your reactions, just one thing, i think i would be better listening to the song first (lyrics or mv) and then the live version :) so you can get the full experience.

icyselena

Actually, their latest mibt test has only extroverts as Namjoon and Jimin. The introvert lines grew. However, I think they should redo the test after the military service as their personalities might be different as it's a major event in their lives as well as going solo for the time being. Said the most accurate way is to do it every 6-12 months or after a dramatic event in one's life.

Desirae

I remember this song so much at the concert. Hearing the music and the base shake my body inside and out, it was crazy. Hobi’s delivery in this song is unbelievable, he nails it everytime with so much emotion and passion.

Pahton Hulmes

I think it's cool that you guys are exploring all the different genres BTS has to offer! I hope you enjoyed this. I obviously love all our boys but I do feel like our rapline is underrated sometimes, so this video makes me happy :) Jhope's verse makes me tear up every time!

Lenny Merlenna

It has never crossed my mind that I could actually be emotional and cry during a rap song. But yes.. this song and the angst, frustration and despair behind the lyrics, made me tear..

Stacenator67

I am sure someone already mentioned this but RM's line is "your my tear 😥" Suga says "your my tear as in rip", and J-Hope is "your my fear". If you get a chance, you should watch the acceptance speech for the 2018 MAMA awards https://youtu.be/vVs710bHkNA. They talk about how they almost disbanded and they get very emotional. I cry every time I see it. You guys are so sweet and so fun to watch. And they group you have built here and on Discord are awesome. I don't post much in discord because I don't really know which category you guys go into to chat, lol. But I did join and I enjoy reading all the different conversations. Can't wait for what is next 💜💜💜

j_beigelman

The emotion in this always gets me, it feels like you’re out of breath and u feel the frustration w them

Camille

Can you believe that in the setlist for this tour, they followed up the truth untold with this…? It was like getting whiplash 🥹 you can also see their raw emotions about almost disbanding/how tough it must have been in that period during their artist of the year speech at the 2018 MAMA awards.

Heather

First off, I love y’all’s reactions! I think it would be really experience changing for y’all to watch a lyric video or pause to read the lyrics from your phones like y’all have in the past. Their lyricism is insane and even though y’all don’t gravitate towards or typically like rap, I think you’d have a better appreciation for their artistry and craft by doing so. Especially the RM ❤️

Mzvdb

Love the reaction, love this song ! Fun fact: it’s produced by the same person who produced Wild Flower which we all love 💜

Cathy Smith

Has everyone seen j-hope's military enlistment announcement. I knew it was coming eventually but it still hit me. Five more to go and I don't think it will get any easier.

rose

Me muero de ganas de ver a Summer reaccionando al concierto que RM dio de Índigo 💙

BlueeDenise

gosh this hit harder today... I had first heard this song and then watched their 2018 MAMA speech and then immediately listened to this again as a baby army (cos i like pain i guess).. Wasn't "here" during those times but i know Armys were in despair and shock after that speech and learning the reality of what they went through (almost breaking up cos of all the struggles) and also the real story of the song... There is also a "meme" even going around "call a fandom with just one note" and the beginning of this song plays.. it is so right, you get chills immediately, and stop everything you are doing cos every emotion just comes rushing in with that one note

Erikalala7

Please watch and react to Cypher Pt.3: Killer, performed by the Rap line in Yet to Come in Busan Concert. Thank you!

j

Hope our sunshine don’t get too frightened with the gun/tear gas/grenade training :c

Marie Leathem

Interesting that you said this. Baekhyun said his completely changed after military service. It makes so much sense. You most likely discover new things about yourself. New strengths and new weaknesses. Things you like and don't like.

Julie

The whole line things (rap line vocal line dance line) yes there is technically an age line😭 maknae line is the three youngest member jungkook v and jimin hyung line is the 4 older members Rm jhope suga jin 💀💀❤️

Susan Brooks

React to BBC Radio One Live Lounge BTS Cover of I’ll Be Missing You. It has everything you’ll love- a live band, harmonies, all 7 harmonize.

Chris Drady

I am so beyond happy you reacted to this - it is such a powerful song. If you didn’t realise what was happening at this time, you think that their lives were just happy all the time. When you realise the pain they were going through, the doubts they were having and the fact that together they found a way through it all and stayed together just adds to the song. It is one of THE best rap line songs out there. Thanks so much.

Aberl Mdf

Please react to bts answer love yourself, live performance at tokyo i think.

indira lusthoff

I'm with Summer, rap isn't my particular cup of tea, but I've listened and watched quite of few of the lyric videos for the rap line , because I still want to know what they're feeling and what's in their hearts.. and I've got to add that I do really enjoy some of the straight rap songs. i just love the boys all so much!

Helen H

I think it's because most people like singing more than rap like not just in bts fandom Army like generally mainstream too, more people like singing than rap (I was too) but BTS got me into rap, especially with RM (he is my bias) I love all of them but some of his solo songs in his earlier mixtape was very very rap heavy and deep that now I am more rapline focus but I love all of them so much like it is impossible not to love all like they are truly a perfect team

Ali

The more you see rap line focused songs the more amazed you become by their lyricism. There is a reason these 3 are the more prominent song writers in the group. The double and triple entendres and the references to myths/Korean classics and clever plays on grammar are one of the reasons I began learning Korean.

BtsOT79798

To me the line about dreams becoming a dream… could have meant something along the lines of the dream they all started together and considering reierment/disbandedment as well as that dream becoming a dream could elude to the group deciding to stick together and continuing the journey they started together!

BtsOT79798

Also for me I started out really liking the singers and dancers of the group (prob. Because I was in choir and could relate to the singers better) but as I dove deeper into the discography of bts and learned more about them as a group I loved each member for different reasons/factors like their performance, fan interactions, stage presence, how they change from a live performance from the release to a song to the concert performance… so at that point I decided I was an OT7 fan and that was that…

Jessica Amaro

You guys should also react to cypher pt.3 Killer, Its also a song sung by the rap line It is one of my favorites of the rap line 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

lea

Tear is the song the I am most excited to see live. I genuinely felt depressed when i realised i wont be able to. I was willing to anything to watch their concert even fly to america if i had to but covid happened and the announcement.. 😭

Armystic

Rm and yoongi said 2015,2016 and 2017 were extremely hard on them bc of all the hate… bc of what they made music about being taboo topics in K-pop they were treated as outsiders in their own country.. and K-pop fandoms are toxic most of the time when it comes to BTS… even when they were so small but doing something so different and seeing results globally… it wasn’t happening at home in their own country. On tours, all the death threats, constant hate from their own country and culture and then getting attention in the US led to a lot of racism, sexism , dating rumors, fanwars but bc they were the first Korean group doing all these shows and being invited to perform on these stages or be invited to be interviewed or present awards, nominated for awards in the US … of course they took a huge amount of the worst it could be. Their jobs are physically and emotionally demanding… so doing all that while managing the constant attack from random ppl who wanted to trash them… it just nearly broke them… but they stayed together for each other… they carried each other, leaned on each other… it’s honestly so beautiful the way they blew up in 2018,2019… it was the beginning of them becoming household names… I love them… they’re so so special. I don’t know how it’s possible for them to be who they are so different and so unique on their own.. could be successful solo artists all on their own(and they are doing that) but then they come together and are this cohesive and perfect team. There’s so much love, support and respect here… there’s no ego… they’ve talked about this a lot lately… how each of them kind of knows their strengths.. and they have all accepted these roles of theirs… I believe they’re destined for this and love them so so much

Armystic

They’ve seen mic drop mv I think but they don’t take requests here… should head to the discord for that
