WOW!! I am completely speechless by the support y'all have shown me the past few days.

Anytime a show is cancelled, a host's future is kind of up in the air. What's going to happen next? What show should I do next? Should I consider working for another network? Create my own show? Work as an editor? Should I upend my career and start fresh? How will we pay our bills? The list goes on.

But instead of go into panic mode and freak out when we decided to sunset TekThing, Patreon has made it a lot easier to look at the whole picture, and consider all the facts laid out in front of you. And seriously consider all options.

To me, the most important thing when it comes to my career in podcasting / youtube is to continue striving to make solid content. I don't think I'd get the value and good feeling out of working for a network again, so going full time self employed was the obvious (but much harder!) choice.

This allows me to work closer with you, my biggest supporters, to ensure I'm actively making content that you find valuable and worthy of your support.

I'm setting up a new weekly schedule for my career so I can focus more on my own channel, ThreatWire, and Patreon. As such, you'll be seeing more posts from me here. I'm currently (like, literally sitting here right now developing and editing) creating new exclusive content for you that I think you'll enjoy. As a behind the scenes, some of that includes more travel tips, more high res photos (I'm in the process of editing my New Zealand photography... I can't wait to show you these photos!!!), more videos on my channel, but also some new content that you'll see this summer.

I'm thinking exclusive physical rewards... live streams... polls (like this one!)... secret meetup announcements... a private google map of my favorite places... I have so many ideas!

What do you want to see? Comment below! I'm so excited to share this next part of my career with you!

If you do any that are gaming related, some opportunities for gaming sessions with your patrons would be great. (PC master race here!) Really, any opportunities for two-way chat about anything - tech, gaming, photography, whatever - would be welcome.

i dont know if this fits in your new channel but one of the main things i liked about tekthing was your straightforward approach to linux as a normal, ordinary tech product that can be reviewed like any other tech product.

Hey Don! Yes, I definitely plan to include Linux focused products on my channel. I'll also be adding a Q&A tech question video in the near future to answer questions from viewers.

I LOVE this idea of a gaming session. Hahaha you'll see me fail so hard! I'll need to finish my new build and set up my battlestation first, then can do this.
