San Francisco is known for it's cable cars, the original ones being invented back in the 1800's. They cost $7 one way and the line can take an hour to get through. When you get on, the best place to be is on the front of the back, standing. It's a thrilling ride, but is it worth the price?

For locals, no. The lines are too long and we have places to go! Buses are cheaper by a large margin. If you're a tourist and don't want to wait in the long line, I suggest using the California St Cable Car. The lines are a LOT shorter but you still get the big hills and a long ride.
