If you're heading to San Francisco, check out Battery Spencer, which is located right over the Golden Gate Bridge in the north bay (Marin county). This is a favorite spot for photographers due to the excellent lighting and having the city in the background.

Pro tip: Go EARLY to miss the tourists or go late, around sunset for some beautiful golden light. Be aware of the SUPER COLD winds coming off the Pacific and hold on to your belongings - gusts of wind get super speedy up here!

Also, check the weather before going. Oftentimes the GG Bridge will be covered in fog, which doesn't bode well for excellent photos. I've gotten lucky on multiple trips up to Battery Spencer for my selfies with the bridge.

While you're there, learn about the history of Battery Spencer! Fort Baker is a 19th-century concrete battery featuring panoramic views of the Golden Gate & San Francisco.
