"Norrin Radd" is actually named after the Silver Surfer (that was the character's name before he took on the role as Galactus's herald). I don't know if he's a sci-fi fan, a comics nerd, super hero fan, and/or Marvel aficionado, or if he wanted to emulate Tim Follin (who famously wrote the music for the Silver Surfer NES game), or if he just really likes the name (honestly, who wouldn't?).
