SC07 Nina Rockin' Out (Patreon)
Content
When you go to post the text that would say "text here" in this box now says "Why do you create?" Which is so fucking pretentious I can hardly stand it. I've always been the odd one out when it comes to other artists since I tend to find the bullshit artists use to justify what they do pretty superfluous. If you want to wax poetic about your craft that's fine, but you've gotta be careful that you don't accidentally stray into sniffing your own farts territory. It's also kind of why I like furries and porn artist a lot more than regular ones. They don't play around about what their goals are. Money, getting off, and combining the two when possible. There's also the fact that patreon tries to act like it's something more than a payment processor and facilitator. It really wants to get in on that sweet youtube convention cash, which is fine, except they pretend like they're you're fucking friend, but they aren't. They will cut you loose at the slightest hint of them having to deal with any bullshit over you. Don't act like you're my buddy if you aren't going to back me up when a twitter mob comes after me. Furries and porn artists make good friends because they know everybody is just horny thought from being an animal at any moment & no one is better than anyone else.
That doesn't have anything to do with this attempt at drawing Nina playing a guitar, but I'm having an ever more rare moment of mental clarity so I let it run with me for a minute. I was all about that kind of raging against stuff when I was in school. You guys would probably have hated what a fucking edgelord I used to be. XD That kid is still in me... there's plenty of room for him to hide now. XD I was dealing with the unexpected loss of my uncle, then my first real heartbreak in rapid succession. Two things that very much contributed to the work that brought us together. I entered retail at one of the lowest points of my life & survived because humans naturally cling together when circumstances are bad. That's why my comic about a shitty retail job doesn't pay much attention to the job. It's about the golden moments you steal from life when the man isn't looking.
