Hey guys!

I know that I told you last month that I was considering ending Black Velvet, but instead, decided that there was many who love and cherish these characters (much more than I expected) so I wanted to continue their journey.

I know the last two chapters were plagued by fluff, dating inexperience, and misunderstandings, due to the recent boyfriend revelation. (I know this can be SO tiring to read, especially when paired with the nature of waiting for updates)

Of course, Oliver is one of our world champions when it comes to communicating, so the tides quickly change. (If miscommunication frustrates you, don’t worry, Oliver is here. This is just meant to show their inexperience, not to be a drama between them, or show that they are incompatible)

The next chapters of Black Velvet are outlined to focus solely on character development and relationship development, as Tobias and Oliver enter this next stage of their life in two separate towns.

This romance may start to spice up a bit. Oops — as a general warning (this means mature content, which there will always be a warning for.) our boys are growing, and so is their relationship.

I know that there may be boring lulls to some in the narrative, so as another warning — I will be reiterating that this IS a slice of life story, the quieter aspects of their growth are necessary, and I am going to avoid unnecessary and unrealistic dramatics, so, this will just be their journey into adulthood and in love, because Tobias’ healing process (and both of them of finding themselves as adults and confronting their wants and needs and goals and dreams,) is perfectly dramatic enough for me.

This Black Velvet isn’t as filled with cliffhangers as the last version (with the goules) because I would like to keep the warmth and comfort of the original, while characterizing them in a way where it’s believable that they are two very different people from two very different families who are falling in love.

I wanted to continue this series so that everyone can continue to see their growth and watch them fall for one another, and at the end of it all, really feel like their love story is solidified and given the closure that it needs.

So I will continue to update this as long as there is interest! But please, be patient of their quieter moments too! ❤️🥰
