🌿 FINAL ANNOUNCEMENT FOR THE BLUE HOUSE OF 1478 🌿 (Patreon)
Content
Okay, guys. This is an official announcement for the removal and rewrite of The Blue House of 1478.
I can’t give up on this story because it means a lot to me, and I was very happy during the initial chapters. I also can see that there are patrons who do enjoy this story. (And thank you so much for your support of it)
I’m sorry to say that this will not be a minor rewrite. When I tried to do my slight rewrite a month ago, it didn’t make me feel any more comfortable. I think the events and development of this story took a down-turn and everything became way too fast-paced, and the original tone warped too quickly.
I’ve started rewriting this from the beginning, taking all the notes that I made during the smaller rewrite before, and I’m going to use my extreme powers of self-criticism to rip it apart as I did with Black Velvet. 😂
I really want to make this story something I’m proud of, because there’s nothing more uninspiring and capable of producing writer’s block than a story I’m not proud of.
I need to add in the necessary character development earlier, the backstories a bit earlier; I’d like to keep some of the touches of humor and stay with the ‘enemies to lovers’ trope, and flesh out more interactions within the town and between significant characters. (I want that small coastal town romance feeling back!)
The romance will also start a little earlier, as I feel like it was sidelined by the supernatural.
I’m taking the chapters that are currently up, down from Patreon (forewarning) and reposting it as I write so that it isn’t confusing to readers and so that you can follow along as if this is a new series updating as it’s rewritten.
I’m restarting with a semi-clean state, so thank you to those who have been so patient, and please give a warm welcome back to The Blue House of 1478 as it’s reposted. I will likely be removing chapters tomorrow, and you will have a fresh, new chapter one tomorrow evening.
I hope that this is good news to those who do love The Blue House because I had gotten to a point where I really couldn’t work in it anymore. If you are only subscribed to me for this story, in particular, I’m so sorry if this is frustrating; I really, really don’t believe in subpar storytelling. I want every book to be written consistently well, and I aspire that every set of characters be the type you can fall in love with. I’m taking my time on this story, so this will be its final rewrite (until hopefully, one day, it’s published.)
I will update it as quickly as possible and with new scenes and interactions so that you all don’t feel like you’ve been set back 30 chapters. I swear I’m not doing this to upset anyone; I just think The Blue House of 1478 has a lot of potential, and I unfortunately began to rush the story and became lost between two desires for the plot.
I hope you stay tuned for the new and improved The Blue House of 1478!
