Sorry to bother everyone! (Patreon)

Okay, I apologize to everyone for lacking foresight. 😂

The vast majority of my pledges are at one dollar.

I am not good at being financially savvy because I have a very weak heart, haha. I specifically chose only one dollar a month for chapter access (it charges upfront because I had some issues with people pledging, reading everything, then unpledging before the end of the month so that they wouldn't be charged — which hey, is pretty criminally smart 😂)

I chose one dollar a month, even though other Patreon users I know said it wasn’t smart (because of creator fees), because I know that countries outside of the U.S. (or those who don’t use PayPal and their bank charges them a processing fee) would have a higher rate to pay (foreign exchange rates, since it’s charging a U.S. dollar)

Unfortunately, as you can see above, that’s how much Patreon pulls out from me. That’s over 100 pledges, gone, basically.

This doesn’t include what I’m taxed by PayPal, and standard taxes on top of that. From a financial standpoint, I was thinking of moving from one dollar to two dollars at the end of this month for chapter access and just including the discord server for everyone on that is on the two-dollar tier.

I’m one of those people who HATE upsetting people, though. I also don’t want you to feel like you’re not getting your money’s worth...

Would you guys still be able to support me at two dollars a month?

Also! I just want to say that despite Patreon’s deductible, I really appreciate those of you who have pledged ANYTHING. Honestly, having you guys here and here to support me has made me 100 times more optimistic in regards to my work and to myself as a writer. On Wattpad, I definitely was struggling a bit with my confidence for the last three years or so — and it got pretty awful towards the end. Writing almost became toxic for me — when it was initially an enjoyable and fun outlet.

It’s back to being fun for me. I really enjoy the time I spend talking to you guys on here, and I love your feedback and excitement, and I just really enjoy this environment as a whole! Thanks so much! I’ve been more motivated than ever, and that’s even with ten-hour shifts and moving! 😂

So I hope this post doesn’t sound like, “give me more money!” And I hope you guys know that I value your opinion and all of you so much as readers. I’m glad I have you to share my happiness in writing with.

(Also, good news, I’m putting out another chapter of Black Velvet today because I’m just totally not pacing myself, what’s new)
