Crafting material, rare

On the white mountains of Ermag, you may find something you don't see every day. The magnetic field around those mountains changes in a blink of an eye, and a beautiful landscape of flying mountains can quickly become a meteor shower.

But if you dare to enter this treacherous place, you may find a treasure you couldn't find anywhere else. Aproutium.

When you heat this metal for the first time, it creates a magical bond. After that, no matter how many pieces you divide, the parts of that particular ore will always have a magnetic link. Then all you need is the proper enchantment to control it and make it attract or repel its pieces.

Aproutium is a light metal. Even things that would otherwise be Heavy can end up lighter when made with this magic metal.

Proficiency needed

To properly craft an item using Aproutium, you need proficiency with Smith's Tools to forge the metal and Arcana to handle the enchantments. After you heat the metal for the first time, it becomes magnetically linked, so after you forge something out of it for the first time is very difficult to melt it and transform it into something else.

Most common uses

Attracting and repelling are the two things that Aproutium handles best, and there are many creative and valuable tricks you can do with that. Some people tell stories of lucky coins that always find the path back to their owner's pockets or magnetic elevators that can take you up into the clouds.

Aproutium is also used to create magnetic weapons. Here on the Legacy Forge, we used Aproutium to craft a quarterstaff that can reach enemies far away. The Staff of the Floating Disk.
