Hello, guys. Another little update. As you know when I was working on "Princess Trainer" I had another artist (Dahr) to help me out. After the "PT" was released I started to work on "Hermione Trainer". I also said that this time Dahr is not going to get involved but probably will return for "Princess Trainer Gold Edition". Well about a month ago I sent Dahr an unfinished "Hermione Trainer" game. He played through it, liked it and we discussed quite a few things since then... One thing lead to another and the poor guy got involved again. This does not necessarily mean that release of the game will happen at a later date now. What it does mean is that the game will be a bit heavier on graphical content and also a few events that originally were present through text, will have proper illustrations now. Nothing major though. I am still doing all the main CGs and all the characters. (Well, both finished long ago actually. Well accept for the title screen illustration, wish i still need to draw.) Dahr is just helping me out with some "side quests". I also have been trying to convince him to create a page on Patreon for quite some time now, but he says that helping me out with my projects is fun for him and provides a distraction form his day job. But I am stubborn and I will keep pressuring him. And shall I succeed... No, WHEN I succeed, you guys make sure to through a buck or two his way please. Even if only for a couple of months. Even if that will mean you would be taking those two bucks from your pledge to me. Because I think he deserves some compensation for all the help he provided to me on countless occasions now. The pic above is one of the many sketches Dahr created for "Hermione Trainer", you will find plenty more in the gallery of the finished game and I am not showing you any of his finished drawings of course because you will see them in the game. And that's all for now. P.S. Also, almost as an afterthought... I am putting here a short reply written by "Rhekke". It describes quite well why hiring any "help" for my projects is not going to help me at all. At least not right now. ------------ "An interesting thing, however, is often unless there is a need for content in a particular and specific skill-set, adding more people to a project at the end actually pushes the completion date out further. Let's say I'm obscenely wealth, perverted and bored. I love Akabur's work, and decide to give him a year's income to get HT out in a month. Akabur joyfully takes my money and uses it to get someone to help him. However, how long will it take this new person to get familiar enough with Akabur's artwork, writing, coding and game plans to save him more time then he takes training this new guy? Of course, if there was a specific need (say character artwork, like DHAR provided in Princess Trainer), which could be filled with minimum input from Akabur, then more money would help. However, this usually occurs in the first third of game development - after that, especially with creators who create their own artwork. But in later stages, the work is based around filling in the last of the graphic elements and art, polishing scripts and code, and essentially tasks which require a full understanding of the entire project. Adding more people will not help, unless Akabur can clone himself. ------------
