Hello and welcome to another Monday Post. Did you know that, given a proper opportunity, most men would agree to participate in a mother-daughter threesome? Also did you know I just made that up? XD (It's probably true through).

Work. Work. During last week I was working on the coding/writing stuff when I realized that I am still missing some art assets. So I at the end I had to also spend some time on drawing the stuff that I was missing. Other than that it was business as usual.

By the way. Did you know that old games look loads better on CTR TVs? I watched a short documentary on how the games were build with CRT TVs in mind and therefor they really DID look better back in the day. Kind of made me want to get an old TV. Well, maybe one day in a distant future. ^^

Work. Work. Work. As for the work, the plan for this week is to continue to work on the stuff I was working during the last week: the endings. I am doing my best to try and say something exciting or interesting here, but honestly, this is a dull work. A lot of pasting and editing of text, coding, testing, and so on.

And that's about it really. I continue to play SWOTOR 1 on my SWITCH. Very slowly I do that, usually an hour a day or so. ^_^ Other than that I have nothing to report. I'll see you all next week I guess. Oh, and as soon as I saw it, I knew I just had to share that GIF of a well educated woman:

So many facts... Thanks for another educational post! I didn't know about the CTR TVs, I need to check that thing. Have a nice week man!

Better get a crt soon, they are quickly going the way of the dodo and are getting more expensive everyday.

The CRT thing is true and a very fascinating bit of older game lore! It's why many old games look awful now... they were built with the limits of tech at the time in mind, and now hyperclarity makes them look like garbage. Hence the remakes and stuff, it's hard to look at some of the old games now.... though I still do rather than play these godawful remakes.

Yes, all those old games were made to be played on CRTs. The graphic designers of the time were necessarily also working on CRTs, and they took account of the constraints and shortcomings of this technology to improve the rendering of on-screen graphics. For example, red is a color that tends to 'drool' and they took this problem into account to improve the design of sprites. This site lists a few examples: https://wackoid.com/game/10-pictures-that-show-why-crt-tvs-are-better-for-gaming/ The CRT also had the advantage of 0 lag, no ghosting, super brightness and viewing angles. There's nothing better than playing on an old Japanese arcade machine (sega blast city, sega astro city...) with the right settings, it kills everything in terms of experience. Otherwise, would the "did you know" at the beginning refer to an in-game scene involving the genie with Iris and Atamansha? ^^

What documentary though? You got me curious

Good luck with everything, as always. Also, the fun fact of the week is true as far as my sources go (I am the sources). See you Monday!

I was trying to find it before making the post, but it was lost in the history of the vids I watched on youtube. It was a 10 min vid of some guy showing graphical differences and explaining the technology behind it -_-

Would not expect less from a true man of culture such as yourself.
