Here are the wip and progression shots of my recent picture of Disney's Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet.

This one took a lot longer than I expected with it originally being more of an experimental sketch using new software. I eventually decided to line her, and it slowly turned into a full painting. Got delayed a few times before the end due to Irl commitments, but otherwise, I spent most of the latter half of March on her.

I'd had my eye on Captain Amelia for some time before. I mean, come on, she's curt and formal...and BRITISH!

But after watching the film, I noticed that there really is not that much fan-art of her. The only one I really like was a rendition of her in a more realistic napolionic themed uniform, which I LOVED, so I wanted to have a crack at my own rendition.

I really wanted to paint her in some sort of naval portrait setting, maybe one done after a great battle, which, if you search for them, there are many old oil paintings of Naval officers and captains from the mid-1700s to the mid-1800s all overflowing with patriotic pride and naval imagery. Hence the Terran Empire flag in the background.

As you can see, I used a lot of Napoleonic uniform references, right down to incorporating naval knots into her uniform. This added a lot to the time I spent on her with plenty of details and gold to render,  which is why she's depicted as an Admiral. ;)

Total time spent on this one roughly: 30 hours.
