Here are the progression phases of the second page to "Off the Set". I believe I had this done close to two months ago, so I'm happy I can finally post it.

Here we can see Jeff enter Alionka's cafe and first make his eyes on Rada. (Spoiler) He likes what he sees.

Quite a simple scene, but, I wanted to capture a quiet winter's afternoon where things are not too busy and someone who had spent too long out in the cold could come and relax.

I tried to make the colours fairly warm but keep the furniture and layout of the cafe a little industrial and made for purpose, rather than totally comfortable. My reasons for this is that Alionka's is probably quite a poor, but novel diner in an unnamed rural village on the border of Repino and St Petersburg. So I tried, as best I could, to give it a sort of post-soviet feel, yet have it be welcoming enough.

Because there's no real dialogue (and I'm still hesitant on adding sound queues) I tried to make sure that Jeff's face told the story. At least where his eyes move to without showing us one panel three.

The image at the top left and bottom right was originally the first image I did of this comic and was going to be on this page. However, I tried moving it to the third page but scrapped it altogether.

Finally, adding the Russian dialogue, ruble symbols and text, I had to make sure I ironed that out with Bela, who helped me immensely here.

Overall, I think this page took about 24+ hours. Although I can't remember exactly as it was a while ago.
