Here are the wip shots of a fairly recent painting I did for a friend of mine from ESO who I play with often, of their character Faahrasi. Faah is a very kind, knowlageble and wholesome healer.

The image took me about 2 months to complete, as, after I had refined the sketch and added the flats I was hampered by work causing me to put it to bed for a time.

Also, while I eventually found time to detail her, I was forced to take a week off due to pulling a muscle in my back which crippled me. I worked on this on my laptop in bed, with my drawing tablet on my lap as I recovered.

The process itself was long, as usual for me, but enjoyable. It was a gift and, a good excuse to dust off my tablet and get back into drawing. Obivoulsy the details on Faahrasi's dress took ages, but, I was quite happy to do them. The Khajiit are (unlike what Skyrim might tell you) are infact actually very devout in their religion and put a lot of enphesis into their worship of the twin moons, Jone and Jode. Hence why her dress, even as a simple healer, is adorned with moon iconography, along with an array of gold jewellery as Khajiit are typically enthusiastic about looking smart, after all, the god who created them demands it.

The background, as the WIPs might show had me scratching my head for a while, sorting out perspective and composition, not wanting to cramp her in too much. Colour and lighting was important too, all while trying to make it look like Rimmen in ESO.

This painting really got me to loosen up when it comes to refining and adding texture and light to surfaces too, like the fur, clothes and leather and certainly makes more confident in future paintings.
