Boys Planet Ep 10 (Patreon)

I know I was a little hard on Matthew at points in this episode, and I honestly feel like he really struggled to be a team player a few times on this show, but please keep in mind that I do LOVE him a lot and I'm super excited to see him in ZB1! I can definitely understand how much the pressure was probably getting to him and the need to prove himself. And while I don't think that show did evil editing in the sense that I don't think that they showed us much of that situation out of context at all and I really believe that Matthew just took it that poorly at the time, I can definitely understand how fans would still feel some type of way about the editing because obviously there must have been quite a few disagreements or struggles of personality throughout the show but they spent quite a bit of time showing that one in particular. 

Also, to be perfectly transparent, at the time I was watching this, I found both Ricky and Jay to be a bit awkward onstage with 'Over Me'. I know that this is like, hot-take of the centaury, but I did not believe them nearly as much as I believed the other trainees in the group and I think that Jay was saved by his vocals very obviously suiting the song the best and I think Ricky's natural charisma and his voice also suiting the vibe gave him a leg up but I wasn't exactly impressed with their dancing (Ricky does better in the dance practice imo). I know a lot of K-pop fans are used to accepting the bare minimum or very understated sensuality onstage when it comes to sexy concepts, but from my perspective, I think that a lot of fourth gen idols aren't very good at sexy choreography or performance as a concept (they're good at teasing it, but tend to be a little awkward to me when they're trying to lean into it), and I really think that you can look at Zhang Hao and Kuan Jui in this performance and see what I would consider owing the sexy concept. 

I say all that with love and it's just my opinion btw, totes understand if you felt the magic from that performance but I think that Zhang Hao and Kuan Jui carried from a performance aspect in a way that a lot of fans are overlooking lol.
