Good on Jian - he didn't freeze up when death was on the line, and he was willing to take personal risks like attracting the beast away from Shan, putting the mission and his allies before his own well-being. That's a good foundation, at the very least.

Sengachi

It's been the little details which have sold me on Jian's fights so far, and this is no exception. The way it's so dangerous for Jian's spear to not be between him and a wild animal, and how once he's down on the ground with a wolf on top of him there's just no tricks that'll help him. Both of those made the fight feel more real to me, like Jian was actually fighting a wolf and not some stat block.
