On Benji's question about selling outside of Amazon: if it helps, I can get you the information for self-publishing authors for Barnes and Noble. It's a fair bit of info, but for the most part, the biggest requirement is "have an ISBN". And from there you can take that into consideration. We have lots of self-published authors' books, and have even had book signing events for several of them!
