The second season is coming, and I am pretty damn excited! We haven't had a series like this in a good while. Or at least, one that had this kind of potential. I want to see five things in the second season (or at least the coming seasons). What do you want to see in the next season?

Very nice! Really enjoyed your thoughts. All the stuff you suggested was really good. Though it begs me to wonder: are we being too hopeful? Season 1 was fantastic, in my opinion, and it set up an incredibly beautiful world with so much possibility. But I don't feel like it really set up much philosophical depth or touched on super mature themes? Sure, intense stuff happened, like the king dude dying and moral ambiguity with what to do with the egg. But in Avatar's first season, they had things like The Storm and The Deserter, which brought incredible depth to the characters and introduced fantastic philosophy. I may not be remembering accurately, but I don't think Dragon Prince's first season introduced that. Granted, they only had 9 eps whereas Avatar had 20. But still... I feel scared to be too hopeful. Even though I wholeheartedly hope and wish with you that Dragon Prince will go there.

No, you're totally right. The tone of the show feels, to me, that they WANT to go into that sort of storytelling, and they just haven't yet. There was a majorly missed opportunity in the episode with the sunknife.

Just wanted to say thank you for this and your content. I am excited to see what happens in S2 of Dragon Prince. In addition I love your Avatar The Last Airbender content. The Avatar content is how I found your page. With that being said, I do not feel as connected with the characters in S1 of Dragon Prince quite like I did of S1 Avatar. As stated from a fellow fan from above, the season is shorter, therefore less time for character development. I would be okay with S2 serving this purpose more then devote S3 to the action/fight/conflict.

Hello Future Me

No, no, neither, and at the moment, my hopes are still high that I connect as deeply with them. I guess we will just have to find out!
