Charles, that are the best exercises you've ever publish here! Wanna tell you a story. When I was 15 I take lessons for bass guitar. One day someone played Money by Pink Floyd intro on bass. I've heard it and told my teacher "I wanna learn it!". He gave me sheets and I learnt it. A week later somebody doodlin' on bass. I heard a familiar note and told "Oh, that's the note 'Money' start with". He told "Oh, looks like you have a perfect pitch". He tested me with piano. I didn't guess any note and he told me "You don't have musical ear". Now I understood that it was absolutely inappropriate to tell your student such thing. But back in that day I believed him. And all my music career I never even try to use my ears! I learn song by sheets, tabs, or looking at other guys. And I never ever used my ears. Couple years ago I realise that musical ear just a skill, it is not an innate talent. Is is just a skill. Now I'm 40 and with great excitement I found these exercises. I train my ear every day for 30 mins. And I can't express how I am angry with my former "teacher" who told me that bullsheet. I can't say that is simple for me to learn bass line by ear. But it is doable, and the more I do it, the easier it became. Thank you Charles, thank you very much!
