My fellow bass players,

In my latest video #78, I made a few references to U Can't Hold No Groove by Victor Wooten.

I decided I had to make a practice video for the main riff, especially as I've seen a couple of requests on here to do that!

This riff uses four of the five techniques I talked about in #78, so if you practise this enough you'll be pretty great at all of them!

Hope this helps you play one of the funkiest slap bass solos of all time!

Do you have any tips for strumming? I play guitar but for some reason I can't get the strumming right on bass

Could you tell me how to play as clean as yours? When I strum down and up, it is easy to cause resonance with other strings. ( my bass is 5 strings bass) I try to mute with left hand as much as possible, and practice it very slowly. But sometimes the resonance noise still happen. another question about strum down and up, your strum down and up is very clear, clean and the tone is sooo good! do you use thumb down, and index finger up? or is it both the index finger? (now I use index finger to down and up) could you share some tips about the strum down and up? Thank you!
