Hey everyone, hope you're doing great!

Today's lesson focuses on one of the most important elements of slap - ghost notes. These percussive sounds are what can separate a bland, grooveless slap bass line from a badass funky riff.

This lesson will give you everything you need to get started using ghost notes! Play along with me in the practise section at the end on a regular basis and you'll be playing UNREAL slap bass lines in no time!!

Thanks for coming here and practising with me, have a great week and I'll see you in the next lesson!

Have been following your slap bass courses for a few weeks now and I am picking it up pretty quick. Excellent teaching! I do already have experience with piano which I am sure helps, but I wouldn’t be learning bass without you content. 👍

I find that when doing ghost notes, I hit lots of harmonics (ones that dont quite fit). Especially when ghosting around 5th/7th fret, etc... Im sure I shouldnt move up a few frets as that would be wasted motion - any suggestions on minimizing these harmonics

Usually I find the harmonics don't sound too bad but sometimes they're unwanted. You don't have to move very far to get rid of the harmonics. For example, if you're muting on fret 6, there's no harmonic there and your a decent distance away from frets 5 or 7. Also, try damping a little more heavily with your left hand (but not so heavily you start fretting notes).
