Hey everyone, I'm very happy to release lesson 2 in the beginner tapping series! A few of you have asked me to explain the best way to set up your bass for tapping, so I'll go over that and then teach you some basic chords that sound beautiful!

As always make sure to practise these exercises consistently until they feel natural!

Let me know if you have any questions at all and I'll answer ASAP.

Thanks for coming here and practising, have a great day and I'll see you in the next lesson!

Charles

Wow. I lowered the action, boosted highs and cut mids a bit, and everything sounds great, not just tapping but even slapping sounds better. Thanks!

Hi Charles, how do I prevent the strings 'clacking' against the frets when my action is low? I have this problem whenever I've lowered my action and I fingerstyle fast 16th notes. Thanks!

In general you need to use a lighter touch when you have a low action, that should help quite a lot. But if you’re getting a lot of fret buzz in certain parts of the neck you may need to adjust your truss rod
