Hey everyone, hope you're doing great!

A lot of you liked this piece on my latest EP and now that my recording and playing skills have improved, I decided to re-record it with a really nice music video! And of course, I've tabbed out the ENTIRE song for you so you can try it out!

You'll need piccolo bass strings, I'd recommend these: https://www.curtmangan.com/piccolo-bass-20p-50-4-string-set/

I have no affiliation with that brand, I just really like those strings and recommend them!

Thanks so much for your support, have a great day!

See you in the next video,

Charles

Hi Charles, I really appreciate you sharing the link to your preference for the Curt Mangan piccolo bass strings and the guages of each string with us. Would you please share a link to the Curt Mangan "bass workout" strings you spoke about that you used to use on your black Le Fay Detuner bass, I can't find that set available anymore. Will you share the guages for that string set? Also I'm curious if you like GHS strings better than Curt Mangan strings? Thank you Charles you are a huge inspiration to all of us

Unfortunately it looks like they don't sell the Bass Workout strings any more! I think they were Jim's customized set so unfortunately after he passed away and is no longer doing his events, they may have decided to stop selling them.

Thank you for your quick response Charles, I found that the Curt Mangan website offers single string custom sets that you can order, if you can remember back can you share what gauges that Jim's bass workout set was for each string because I'm curious to try them. Do you prefer nickel or stainless steel strings and why? The strings I've been using for years If you haven't tried them are Dean Markley Blue Steel. They keep their tone forever. I think you'll really enjoy them. The set I have now for the first time ever is the extra light ones : XL (40-55-75-95) . I've tried the medium light & also the mediums but these my favorite. It wasn't until recently I discovered your youtube channel and started watching all of your videos from oldest to newest discovering you executing the cleanest techniques I've ever seen, even cleaner than our heroes and we all share the same heroes, you have in turn inspired me to take my playing to the next level. You introduced me to Jim & Grant Stinnett and I am truly inspired by Grant's youtube channel also but have yet to check out Jim's channel and can't imagine what I'll find there. You are truly in the presence of greatness. In watching your concerts on the live section of your channel someone asked if you liked Primus, when you have a chance this is essential listening : the 1st album that started it all is called Frizzle Fry & the greatest hits is called They Can't All Be Zingers. When I first heard these I never knew the bass could make sounds like this but what's so amazing about it is the bass player Les Claypool is making these sounds & singing everything at the same time. There's no question that you can do all of the techniques he's doing but just check it out, you can't really categorize them as it's a mix of comedy, funk & alternative rock
