My fellow bassists,

You might remember in one of my previous slap bass lessons I mentioned that you have loads of different articulations at your disposal when you're slapping (at least ten, e.g. slap, pop, hammer-on, pull-off, strum, etc.)

This exercise is designed to help you practise the left-hand articulations, especially hammer-ons onto a different string, and left-hand slaps.

When you do the left hand slaps, you should use some force and even push onto the fretboard, but slightly lift your fingers after the impact. You still want your fingers resting on the strings though at the end, because that's what mutes the strings and keeps it percussive.
