My fellow bassists,

When I first started slapping, my technique was all over the place. I was having a lot of fun, which is great! But I started getting frustrated that I couldn't learn slap bass lines by some of my favourite players - Marcus Miller, Mark King, Victor Wooten etc...

The problem was that my technique only allowed me to play a few specific bass lines and licks. I had to force myself to learn new techniques that I found in bass lines outside of what I was used to playing. It took quite a few bass lines to feel like I had a good grasp of slap, but these four were some of the most beneficial to my playing and I'm sure if you learn them you'll see some huge benefits to your slap technique too!

As always, let me know if you have any questions or comments at all and I'll make sure to respond ASAP! Thanks for coming here and learning with me, have a great weekend and I'll see you in the next video!

Awesome! Mr Pink and U Can’t Hold No Groove were 2 of the main youtube videos I used to watch constantly when I was like 14yrs old. Maybe it’s time I learn them!
