I know you're talking about after the one ring was destroyed being an interesting story not unlike Frieren's Journey, but the Battle of the shire was something I would have liked to see a movie of.

Now have to research the battle of the shire haha. I haven't read the books lol, except for the hobbit, loved it. I just got The children of Hurin book to read, hear good things about that one.

It might be in one of the 100s of endings that they didn't use. That are in the special features on the home release, I am unsure, as I personally haven't watched every ending. I just know about the battle of the shire from a writing youtuber I like to watch.
