Two things: 1 We still don't know what the D means so don't worry too much about it. 2 The Shandorians comment about finally being able to stop fighting means they don't have to protect the poneglyph that was the war they have been fighting for centuries not only against Eneru but the world

I mean the part about not knowing what the D is is kinda half true, We have known it has been called the "Will of D" since Drum Island. Doctor Kureha said it towards the end of the drum island arc. What that D stands for is never stated. I personally think that's because there are multiple wills of D. Pretty sure Luffy's Will of D is the Dawn since the very first arc is called Romance Dawn.

SKyisland IS pivotal to the story, so eah they absolutely have to cover it. It's even referenced multiple times down the line.

I am generally not a fan of filler, however the G8 filler is actually one of those exceptions. It's really well written and I think you'll like it.

The shandorians ancient sacred duty was to protect the poneglyph. That's why they didn't feel they could rest until Robin told them the poneglyphs' duty had been fulfilled. It's not about whether enel was around or not, they thought they had to protect the poneglyph from the skypieans and the rest of the world too until Robin told them it was fulfilled. Just like the royal kingdom of alabasta was tasked with guarding the other one without knowing what it said I actually think that robin being able to free these people of their duty and stop a 400 year war is one of the best moments of skypiea and you just keep shitting on it 😂

Whoever said this arc can be skipped is wrong on many levels. Not only it's very good but it's also important for the world building and overall plot. The only canon arc that is "safe" to skip (might get referenced again later, I honestly don't know yet) is the Foxy Arc but even that is fun to watch. But I'm very disappointed in you for missing the obviously phallic shape of the block of gold they wanted to give them XD no other reaction I watched mentioned it but I had expected you to.
