That's a good assessment of the movies, The movies they pretty much let themselves just have fun with it. OG World's strongest is one of the movies I'd recommend checking out. Also you can't really count any of Goku's techniques as Saiyan abilities. At least not in Z, he uses a lot of techniques he learned from his previous martial arts masters. Which isn't really a spoiler as it was already a thing in the very first episode of dragonball, and you have seen him adapting what he learned from King Kai already.

i would skip the buu bits until you have watched the buu saga, the buu saga is too good to spoil it with just the buu bits. they should have done the buu saga normally not just shorts
