Well actually no, Mikoto is actually Corrin's adopted mother. Its actually explained that Corrin's father came to Hoshido in seek of a place to live with his son/daughter. He had met and lived with the royal family for a long time to be considered family by the rest unitil the day came that King Garon murdered Corrin's father and kidnapped them.
