JPDE2 - Adagio of Darkness [BATTLE DEMO]+[WEB VERSION] (Patreon)
Content
...except not really. What do I mean?
I mean that the original concept of this demo, back when JPDE2 was still being made in Unity, was just to showcase what the battle-system would be like...
But since switching to RPG Maker MZ, the progress we've made has been staggering. Thanks to the plugins available for the engine and everyone's efforts on the team.
So, even though the name Battle Demo stuck, the battle system is not the only thing you'll find in this. This is very close to a vertical slice. You'll find the exploration systems. You'll find a taste of our custom sprites for characters and enemies. You'll find the first custom tilesets for the environment. You'll find original music. You'll find contributions from the JPDE community turned into easter eggs.
Most importantly, you'll find your introduction to JPDE's version of Remnant, three years after the events of the first game... The world has changed, the story continues, Team JPDE is back. Time to join the adventure once more, in JRPG style!
Feel free to stream this or talk about this wherever you like but keep in mind that the main goal for this demo is to get feedback from you Patrons about the contents, a lot of which are not finalized (like the battle sprites for the main characters... Can anyone say Chibi?) and thus, it won't be available to play and download for anyone but Patrons for a while longer.
Please share any feedback you might have about the demo in our Discord server, at #jpde2-feedback, especially if you're using the Android version. Compared to Ren'Py, RPGMaker MZ is heavier ram-wise so we need some serious feedback regarding performance on mobile devices...
Also, for a first for both JPDE2 and, going forward, JPDE1... We have a web version of the game! What does that mean? It means that, if you're so inclined, you don't need to download the game itself but you can just "stream it" by clicking on the link, no matter the device... Which means iOS players! WE'VE BEATEN APPLE!
With that out of the way, the usual Disclaimer and then... THE LINKS!
