Hello thar, Meinos Kaen here, with a brief update!

Before that, though, I want to wish you all happy holidays once again. I hope you're managing to spend them with your loved ones and that the holidays are giving you respite from potentially trying times...

That said, I guess you may have noticed the updated goal description on the page. After a lot of questions from fans about this subject, I've decided that voice acting for JPDE will be a stretch goal.

The reason why is pretty simple. After the experience with the CastingCallClub experiment, I've realized that, just like art, it's better to pay people for their VA services than using volunteers. On top of rewarding them for their time and effort, I find that paying usually guarantees you a certain level of professionality and quality... I'm not opposed to adding voice acting to JPDE but if it must be, this time it must be done right.

Thus, the need for a stretch goal since right now our funds are pretty focused on JPDE2, Ars Navigatio and ONHA. I can't wait to show you just what switching to 3D based development is doing for our skills and knowledge. You could say it opened a brand new dimension for us...

so... if your primary focus is on three planned games... were not going to see what remains of JPDE finished are we?

JPDE is still being developed, of course. New dates and sprites and characters always. But as far as extra funds go, right now we're using them on the new projects hence we can't add voice acting without more.

as long as the romance routes get finished I will be satisfied I can live with out voice acting if we get that
