Meatier Showers 2024 - Introduction Pitch (Patreon)

HEWWO!

As mentioned in an earlier post, I'll be embarking on a new comic project, Meatier Showers 2024 (working title). The full length is expected to be 32 - 36 pages and I will be progressively working towards a grayscale comic all the way to full color through the year.

The first 6 pages will be important in establishing several things, primarily the inciting incident and what readers can expect from this new project.

• Pages 1 - 2: Snares is done with his workout and checking the label of a new muscle growth formula. He shrugs at the label, chugs a good amount and heads to sleep. The lifeguard lion wakes up the following morning with notable results! His biceps bulge like mountains as he flexes them. He then notices some unexpected side effects of the new formula, his nips have swollen up to massive sausage sizes!
  
• Page 3: We cut to Pridestar studying himself in the mirror. He has new accessories on and is marveling over how fitting they are on him. Preyford is hardly amused while Pridestar is too excited to notice since he's meeting Snares in the evening for dinner. Pridestar receives a text from Snares. Dinner is cancelled!

There's a bunch of other stuff that I wanted to share and communicate with readers that I was never able to in previous titles.

• Page 4: We cut to the exterior of Preyford Dobermanners' adult shop, the "Lewd & Nude". We hear incessant crying from within. Both Tanz and Groover have arrived at the scene, with Preyford pleading to them to remove Pridestar, who's throwing an awful tantrum, from the premises. Tanz and Groover learn that Snares cancelled dinner on Pridestar. Groover and Tanz try to placate Pridestar with ice cream.
  
• Page 5: Cut to exterior of the Dine-in Diner. Tanz and Groover try to console Pridestar, who at this point is too distracted by his towering sundae. Seeing that Pridestar seems to have lost quite a bit of mass, they ask if Pridestar has been eating well? Pridestar shares that he came to realize he's not so much into gaining himself than he is more happy to encourage Snares grow instead - this leads to both Tanz and Groover wanting to know if they are actually a couple. The group exchange their thoughts on the matter, with the suggestion that, if Snares isn't "feeling well", Pridestar could offer to buy dinner over instead.

• Page 6: Fast foward to the evening, Snares places his order on a food delivery app. Just as the order gets sent out, the doorbell rings, much to his surprise. Opening the door reveals an uninvited Pridestar at the doorstep. Snares quickly slams the door shut. Pridestar explains himself, and in a moment of dorkish vulnerability, unloads a quite bit of information. There's an awkward silence. No luck. Pridestar adds that he's brought along Snares' favorite bucket of meats for dinner, to which the door finally opens.

I think it's important in page 6 that Pridestar acknowledges his personal flaws, and how he's leanring to deal with his own neurotic behavior. With Meatier Showers, I feel that there's always an opportunity to strive towards sex positivity. You'll find in many Japanese furry comics or doujinshis that there's a general lack of consent and communication. Perhaps this may be alright as a piece of fiction, but on a personal level as a storyteller, I want to suggest to readers that there may be other alternatives. Aside from the usual growth fetishes that I'll be covering, I do want to make mutual consent a theme for Meatier Showers 2024, hopefully without being too preachy! Needless to say, I'll iron out the dialogues in greater detail once we cross that bridge. For now, we see Pridestar, despite his earlier tantrums and neurotic behaviors, being self-aware at the very least.
