Swole Mates Page 05 - Draft (Patreon)

For this month's updates, we'll be looking at how things have been shifting around in the second half of Swole Mates. As of this writing, I'm pretty happy with everything between pages 1 - 5. As you can see below, things are pretty straightforward:

Not only was I able to sneak in some humor in the exchange between Pridestar and Snares (we see how misaligned their concerns are), but I was able to reestablish Pridestar as his classic, greedy, horny self:

Moving forward is where things get pretty messy, and hopefully for the better. While I have been fortunate enough to push through my creative block and make it to draft page 9, the pages themselves aren't exactly perfect on the first attempt. I've been swapping pages and panels around so much that I'm hesitant to say what's what just yet. The good news is that visually, the pages and their panels seem to be flowing in a structurally more sensible order. The bad news is that I may have gotten carried away with the growth aspects at times and have to rearrange things quite a bit.

What I've learned so far as that I should've started with the ending, as I had mostly done so in the past. The fact that I haven't established an "end point" for Snares growth has resulted in some size inconsistencies throughout the draft.

Tonight's priority would be to start with page 12 (the ending) and work my way backwards to page 9 and see how I can string the growth sequence in a more gradual, seamless manner. Ideally I would've liked to hit 18 pages so that it makes for a proper standalone book, but as it currently stands, things are a bit of a stretch. We'll see how this weekend's stream goes and if it gets recorded down properly, I'll be posting it here on Patreon as well.
