Hi everyone!

I hope this newsletter finds you all safe and well. Looking ahead, I'd like to share some latest developments and general updates:

Moving Out

Firstly, I'll be physically moving out of my current place of rent into a new location on the 28 Dec. I've been staying at my current area for the past 1.5 years, and the only reason why I'm here was because the company I used to work at the past 2 years was within a 15 minute walking distance. Since losing my job in Sep this year, it no longer made any financial sense to remain in the city. Pre-Covid, I would normally take my laptop and tablet back to the office on weekends to work, however, all that has had to change since April for worse.

Most of you won't know this, but given my circumstances, I have to elevate my laptop so that the tablet slides underneath, otherwise there simply isn't enough table depth.

Moving to a place with cheaper rent will no doubt make things more sustainable in the long run, and hopefully be more spacious and conducive for working.

Changing Industries

Having been let go from my previous full-time storyboarding job at a local animation company, I've decided that it was finally time to change industries into something that would hopefully be more substantial down the road. I've been navigating the local animation industry for the past 15 years, and things have not exactly improved since then. While I can go on at length with this topic, I won't - the short of it is that I'm moving on - and not for a lack of trying.

As with most things in life, several "prompts" had popped up during my last month of employment as I prepared my inevitable landing into unemployment. These prompts had led me to apply for a 6-month train-and-place program to enter the MICE industry which will commence in 4 Jan 2021.

It seems insane to be jumping into an industry that's so badly affected, but I do see opportunities for the future.

I hope this hasn't been too much of a sidetrack, but it's essentially where most of my focus has been over the past 3 months, planning ahead for the future and ensuring I'm in a safe enough place to continue doing what I love most - which is making art.

Meatier Showers

As of now, I am currently working on the inking and cleaning up of page 2 for the new comic, and should hopefully have everything ready for the next update on the 25 Dec. I've been toggling between my comic pages and the trial batch of commissions, trying to find my pacing and rhythm (on top of planning my future).

We're halfway thru December and with just a little more, we'll be stepping right into a new year together. Please stick around for the updates, stay safe and thank you for your support and patience, as always.
