Progress Update

Hi everyone. Just a quick update, as of this writing, 12 out of 24 pages have been drafted out. Not all are ready for viewing however, as a couple of pages are primarily placeholder drawings at this moment (in other words, sketchy geometric shapes where characters and faces are supposed to be.)

As the month of May draws to an end, I've decided to step up my efforts in garnering more support for this project (as well as future ones.) The purpose of this post is to let everyone know that I've revised the Patreon rewards for my project.

Art Tutorials

I know folks have been requesting this for awhile now, and it's been very difficult for me to implement this in the past while being stuck on longer format productions. With KAIJUICE, I'm able to switch in and out of gears more easily and will be using the project itself as a "live" example of how I make my creative choices, such as camera angles, page and panel layouts, etc. I will also cover topics like visual hierarchy and visual flow using key comic pages as teaching tools. If you are keen on these tutorials, as a content creator yourself or as a comic enthusiast, please kindly consider the $5 option. The monthly tutorials will be posted on-site here for easy access, under the "tutorial" tag.

Digital Downloads

As with the 2 previous Meatier Showers productions, patrons were able to receive a collectible e-book each month that was retroactively updated with page progress and served as an archive for past pages. This was accessible through a Google Drive link sent out privately to patron's inboxes. I will be doing the same thing with KAIJUICE, now that I have sufficient content to offer this to patrons. Please consider the $15 tier to subscribe to the monthly e-book as well as access to rejected, behind-the-scenes content.

Rejected Material

Most readers don't realize exactly how much content gets taken out in the final version of the comic. Like most movies you see in cinemas, content is edited for the economy of length and budget. With comics, full-size images sometimes have to be cropped to make space for more panels, drawings and poses don't always work, or entire pages get removed or amended for the betterment of the project. Supporters pledging to the $15 tier gain access to all this content along with their monthly e-book access through a private Google Drive link.

Custom Character Art

If you've been wanting to get commission work from me, this is the only channel I'll be available for the foreseeable future as I am focusing all my efforts on this current project. There are 10 commission slots per month. If you maintain your support, I will draw you something new as per your request each month, based on agreeable content. It can be a one-off thing as well, so the opened slot becomes open to others the following month.

Comic Collaboration

This is basically the freelance aspect apart from sketch commissions I'm opening up to 3 slots. If you're a content creator and looking for someone to produce with, or interested in developing a new series as a team, I am available for discussion and work.

Rewards Overhaul

While Patreon has made it easier to build rewards now with their editor interface, I've also unwittingly removed everyone from their pledged tiers while I was doing a complete overhaul of my services. I do apologize for any inconveniences caused, and would like to take the opportunity to ask everyone to update your pledges (so you don't get left out) as well as to check out the new tiers.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO UPDATE YOUR REWARDS!
