I let out a deep breath…

“Finally.” I thought to myself.

After spending 5 years in the same office without getting noticed by management I decided to take some measures to make sure I was a viable candidate for the next promotion opportunity.

It was a year ago today when I started filling my body with estrogen and subtly changing aspects of my looks each month. Growing my hair out and changing my wardrobe were the things that got people talking initially.

Around three months ago I was called into my supervisor's office. He sat there with the CEO and a human resources representative.

They were straight forward about it, they wanted to make sure I knew it was safe to identify however I chose.

“This is it!” I had thought to myself.

As a regular man I was an average employee, but as a trans woman I might be seen as a commodity to my employers, one worthy of a promotion.

I was right!

Just a few short months later, having socially transitioned and come out to the world, I can look out at the sky and sip my coffee as the newest supervisor in the office!
