Not really! I knew I needed Brody to be more frog-monster than anything else, so his design was pretty simple. Bernard is, unfortunately, going to be a much more short lived creature, and he had a lot more things going into him to make him.

How is bernard speaking? Brody had a fully-formed mouth in the correct position. Does Bernard speaking occur by rumbling through vocal chords and bypassing a mouth? Otherwise, having the chin see-saw back and forth would be creepy.
