Hello Patrons!

Another update for you, with some additional QoL fixes for both PCVR and Standalone players. Definitely getting close to a publicly releasable build at this stage.

JKXR 1.1.17-ea change log

  • Don't use vid_restart, get user to manually restart JKXR on video settings change (prevents crash)
  • Modified PCVR build to use 64 bit OpenAL (you can supply your own OpenAL library in place of the packaged one)
  • Restored original weapon scaling (the weapon scaling/alignment has actually been wrong in the last few releases!)
  • Implement separate saber pitch adjustment, it uses the OpenXR grip pose and an adjuster separate to the weapon one
  • Fix missing intro movies on Quest
  • Fix hand not showing in JKO when saber is thrown
  • Reduce sensitivity of grip activation of selectors (better for Index users)

Once again, thank-you from all of us at Team Beef, your continued support is very much appreciated!

Update Install Instructions

Standalone

You can simply install this over the top of the previous update without needing to do anything else.

ATTENTION: Turn off passthrough mode when starting the game for the first time! Otherwhise you will get locked in an infinite loop!

PCVR

Before you install this version, YOU MUST UNINSTALL THE PREVIOUS VERSION

To uninstall the old version either use the uninstall batch script from that version, or delete any JKXR DLLs or EXEs from the GameData folders in Steam (don't delete any of the original game's exe or DLL files!!)

Further instructions on installing the new version can be found in the readme.txt contained within the release package

Hi! I've been using this build and have been running into stuttering issues. It appears it's on loading new things? Like I have completely stable FPS if I stand still, but the moment I break something, or move too much to another room I get a pretty serious stutter. Is there a way to load more of the assets preemptively into VRAM? Thanks! It's been pretty hard as it causes motion sickness for me when it stutters.

Having issues with Jedi Academy: after the first mission, the cutscene where you are in Jedi Temple does not start (you just float above the students forever), when you skip the cutscene and are in the force tutorial level, Kyle does not speak at all, so the in-game cutscene does not initiate, meaning the doors that actually get you into the level do not open PCVR, using Vive with Index controllers
